Schloss Johannisberg
Schloss Johannisberg is a vineyard steeped in tradition and a wine situation in Geisenheim in the Rhinegau. The domain is a sole owner of the 35-hectare-situation which counts to the best ones of the Rhinegau. It is exclusively Riesling cultivated.
You reach Schloss Johannisberg within 10 minutes on food from the hotel and it offers a breathtaking look over the middle Rhinegau.
Kloster Eberbach
Kloster Eberbach is a former Cistercian monastery in Eltville on the Rhine. It counts with his impressive Romanesque and Early-Gothic constructions to the most important art monuments of Hessen.
In the cloister was made a large part of the indoor photographs of the film „The name of the rose“.
Rüdesheim
Rüdesheim is a winegrower's town in the middle Rhine Valley, part of the UNESCO-world cultural heritage, directly on the foot of the “Niederwalddenkmal” and is one of the biggest tourist attractions of Germany. Only the Cologne Cathedral attracts more tourists from abroad! Not only the excellent wine – the Rüdesheimer mountain counts to the best vineyard situations of Germany – or the old town in itself, but also the picturesque scenery of theTaunus in connection with the romantic Rhine makes the town worth seeing.
Above all the Christmas fair of the nations is a visit worth. It is the only Christmas fair of the world which offers a new, unique international experience on every day!
Niederwalddenkmal
The Niederwalddenkmal or Germania lies on the edge of the scenery park Niederwald above the town Rüdesheim. To his feet there are the wine situations of the Rüdesheimer mountain.
The Germania reminds of the victory over France in 1870/1871 and the foundation of the German empire. The monument was built according to the draughts of the sculptor's Johanne shilling and the architect Karl Weisbach and was dedicated on the 28th of September 1883
Recommendable is a day tour which also inspires children.
Start your journey with the cable railway from Rüdesheim up to the Germania. In the cabin railway you enjoy with a gentle „about the shoots float“ the fantastic panorama.
From there a one-hour wandering with fantastic views about the magic cave and an animal enclosure leads to the armchair lift in Assmannshausen.
Boat trip on the Rhine
What would be a visit in the area of the Rhinegau Taunus and Rüdesheim without a boat trip on the most famous river of Europe?
In Rhinegau Taunus you find the ideal starting point to an exciting navigation. Use the offer of the numerous societies for a journey with one of the modern holiday boats.
Eltville
Eltville is the biggest town in the Rhinegau. She carries the epithets Wine, Champagne, Roses, and since 2006 Gutenberg town.
Visit Eltvilles old Town and the splendid villas on the Rhine.
Geisenheim
Geisenheim lies at the Rhine between Wiesbaden and Rüdesheim and is known as a wine town, school town, cathedral town and lime town.
The Geisenheimer cathedral, many vineyards and footpaths, the nice Old Town and the weekly market at the cathedral, always on Fridays from 7-12 o'clock are worth seeing among other things.
Ponyland Ebental in Rüdesheim
A family-friendly leisure paradise in the midst of meadows and woods surrounded from the numerous footpaths which you lead to unique vantage points, castles and cloisters.
The Ponyland welcomes you with "happy" chickens, goats, donkeys, sheeps and a big pony flock in original, natural surroundings that invite to horse riding and selfdriving in 2km loop road.

Wiesbaden
Wiesbaden is situated 30 minutes away from our hotel. This is the capital of the German federal state Hessen and with his 26 thermal springs one of the oldest health resort baths of Europe.
The Old Town of Wiesbaden invites to a shopping stroll and many museums also offer on rainy days a coloured programme.
Mainz
Mainz is the capital and the biggest town of Rhineland-Palatinate. The university town invites with his nice Old Town properly to a visit.
Rheingau Musik Festival
The Rhinegau music festival takes place since 1988 yearly during the summer months. Many concerts with famous artists from the whole world are organised. The festival began as a private initiative of Michael Herrmann who is till this day the director of the festival, and other music lovers who were interested to animate the musical life in the Rhine Main area.
Rhein in Flammen
“Rhine in flames” is the name of annual great fireworks which take place at different times in several segments of the middle rhein. Enlightened ships go at four appointments brightly in convoys in the evening about the river and allow the view of the whole fireworks to her guests which is lighted with the arrival of the ships. Along the riversides wine parties or public festivals which attract hundred thousands spectators take place.
Loreley
There is a lot to see and to experience all around the Loreley.
The ferryman who knows the Rhine already since primeval times; the Loreley whose mythical beauty optimally fits in the picture of the Rhine romanticism; the numerous castles, churches and historical places and a lot more.
Deutsches Eck in Koblenz
In the confluence of the Rhine and the Moselle there is the „German corner“. In 1897 a 350-hundredweight-monument was established on a base by emperor Wilhelm I, in appreciation of the arrangement of the German empire.
107 steps which surround the monument go up to the upper view ring. The monument shows a height of 37 metres.
On the German corner there meet yearly thousands of visitors from all over the world who can enjoy here also the marvellous view of fortress Ehrenbreitstein.
